The Mix
My new things from Jane always give my wardrobe a boost, sometimes in surprising ways. I think of it as mixed-up elegance. It makes getting dressed a lot of fun.
Picture a vintage Scottish golf jacket, made for the vacation trade in Bermuda. What a find! Tastefully embroidered with golf balls and the word “FORE,” it calls out for a glimpse of something red and lacy. The fabulous Ritratti Ermitage Embroidered Sheer Balconette Set smartens it up nicely. Just add a costume jewelry choker or a Klements scarf.
A beloved silk dressing gown becomes street-worthy with the addition of Valery’s modest little Tenera Embellished Knit Camisole and skinny jeans. Sashay out with the gown left open or tied dramatically around the waist.
Slide a big beautiful cashmere sweater over your new Lila Yasmine silk PJs from Olivia Von Halle. Pop the collar, add gondolier slippers. Cozy and cute for a winter party.
Pretty lingerie even complements a favorite slightly torn mariniere top. Flaunt the deconstructed look with an inner layer of Elise Anderegg’s Vendome Black Lace Top, revealed in unexpected places. Pearls? Mai oui!
And turn the tables with eye-catching stockings. Patterned stay-ups or tights allow you to keep it simple everywhere else. Well, all the places that show.
Spread a little joy in your closet. Dare to wear the mix!
