Shirt Passion

It was love at first sight. The shirt you didn’t know you needed. Until you saw it. The missing link to so many looks. Since then, it has been a sun shield, a nightgown, a mini dress, a boardroom ally, always a straight-up seductress. Jane’s Vanity rekindles the passion with fabulous new shirts designed in Greece by Stelios Koudounaris. Let’s take a peek.

Love brings clarity. And Stelios has a clear vision, as noted on his website, of “wild elegance, sensitivity, and conceptual patterns.” His designs seek to highlight the female figure using couture techniques and high quality materials. “Stelios experiments with each of his collections and aims to make the wearer both feel and look their best while in his clothes.” The wearer might also feel the kiss of Greek sunshine in these garments.

JV has fallen in love with two Stelios shirt styles. First is the Bat Sleeve Shirt in an Aegean blue rayon mix. Its amazing down-to-there batwing sleeves give the graceful effect of wearing a cape that follows you everywhere. For convenience, the cuffs fasten at wrist. The shirt buttons up the front and features a long straight-point collar.

Second is the Big Collar Shirt in a silk and cotton blend in either black or white. Its long straight-point collar, dolman sleeves, and clever seaming make it a wonder of tailoring. Wear it tucked into trousers, or loose over a swimsuit–or your birthday suit. Like Stelios, you will want to experiment.

Be seduced by the simple lines and flattering drape of Stelios shirts. You’ll love them. But Jane’s Vanity doesn’t need to tell you. When you see them, you’ll know.
