Here’s to the Lady Dressed in Black
In Eastern Oregon, a toast is often a call and response. For example, First cowgirl: “Here’s to the lady dressed in black…” Clink. Second Cowgirl: “She walks down the street, and she doesn’t look back.” It is a poor companion who does not have a few such rhymes up her pearl-buttoned sleeve. But, this toast is my favorite. I can picture that lady. Possibly on her way out of town. And what might she be taking along for her travel wardrobe from Jane’s Vanity?
The New York Body Suit from Cadolle is a given: black textural stretch body, long sleeves, beaded collar, keyhole closure at back. Good with some low-slung jeans.
Just add the dark silk of Klements Longline Silk Smoking Jacket. And boots, of course.
A pretty black tank is great for travel. Consider Dana Pisarra’s Romantic Wool Silk Shell. Its chic boatneck is accented by floral embroidery on sheer tulle applique. And underneath? Lots to choose from. Loveday London’s Koressia Lingerie Set in black features buttery soft lambskin leather, leavers lace, and velvet. Lise Charmel’s Sexy Rebelle Lingerie Set is crafted from floral French lace, ultra-soft triangle lace, and faux leather details. Pack both.
A half slip will come in handy. Gilda & Pearl’s silk charmeuse Gina Black Half Slip, with its shimmering lace at hem, is dressy enough to go out for cocktails. Match with their All That Glitters Jacket in black chiffon. For later, this kimono style jacket complements the All That Glitters Babydoll Set.
Happy Trails, everyone, from Jane’s Vanity!
