Forecast: In-Between

When seasons change, wardrobes must tag along. What to wear? When you haven’t a clue, an in-between piece from Jane’s Vanity will lead the way.

As spring turns to summer, a high-neck bralette can patch you through. In June, it fills in the neckline of low-cut shirts and dresses that will later go it alone. The Viéve High Neck Bralette Set from Hervé by Céline Marie is at once sporty and sexy, with its sheer black mesh, racer cut, and gold lace appliqué. Such a garment also protects your décolleté from the sun.

Karolina Laskowska’s Nereid Lingerie Set is another high-neck choice, crafted from navy Chantilly lace and lined in beige tulle. Its monowire gives great support while showcasing the lace design. For now, it looks right with a sleek jacket or a v-neck sweater. On vacation, wear it under a boho sundress or alone with high-waisted trousers.

A slip dress is a wonderful in-between piece. Start by wearing it over a tiny tee shirt. Then by itself. For fall, add a short cardigan, cashmere sweater, or skimpy school-girl blazer. The latest JV slip dresses come from Gilda & Pearl: the Sophia Ruby Slip Dress in a smoldering red silk, or the Lili Midi Slip Dress in a rose-gold silk patterned with dragons in shades of pink and red.

For mercurial weather, let a kimono jacket become your signature, worn casually open to flutter in the breeze. Emma Harris offers a gorgeous selection, in lace-embellished solid silks. Consider the Rochelle in berry purple or orchid, the Elsa in teal, the Celeste in raspberry, or the Veronique in cobalt blue.

Or, jump-start the new season with a statement accessory. Light up your face with Gisel B’s Margaret earrings of dangling fresh-water pearls.

The beauty of your JV wardrobe is that the pieces blend so easily, season after season, with just a clever addition here and there.
