“Straight on Till Morning”

Our favorite red-haired wonder calls out on her way to Tokyo: “I wouldn’t be without my purple Chuck Taylor All Stars for trotting through airports. So I treat my feet to the finest Italian socks from Bresciani: the Chartreuse Cotton Sock, the Red or Green Cashmere Ankle Sock, or the Black Lurex Socks. Any socks I’m not wearing will fit snuggly into my carry-on tote, just in case.”

A chic silver fox, with years in the sky, recommends her time-tested all-black travel-day outfit. “I like to keep it simple with no metal, no belt, long sleeves, and non-metal jewelry. I would wear Boglietti’s Bridget Black Long Sleeve in silk/wool mix with macramé lace detailing at the scoop neckline. And, because I like to bring along my own silk pillowcases, I am thrilled to see the Tama Coral Silk Pillowcases (King Size) with matching pouch from Karma on the Rocks. I’ll add their matching Tama Coral Silk Scarf, another secret travel comfort!”

Her twin sister concurs in principle, but can’t resist the luxury of colorful silk next to her skin. “No long flight would be complete for me without a pretty Emma Harris camisole-top silk pajama set beneath my leisurewear. The capri-length Clara Silk Pajama Set in rich purple with shimmering black floral lace appliqués will be great upon arrival as weightless sleepwear or cocktail attire.”

Another veteran traveler just drifts onto the night flight in full bedtime kit. The jacket is trimmed in geometric floral embroidery of silver, blue, teal, and white. And lined in pale blue silk that is filled and quilted on the inside. “I am sure that everyone on board wishes they were me, including the crew. Good night!”

Because of time changes, one might arrive in the morning and need to wear one’s travel clothing all day long. Our hometown travel guru is prepared, because, “It is important to me that I not only look wrinkle-free, but also appropriate to the culture.” So she wears Aromatique’s long-sleeve rib-knit Silk Rollnecks onboard (choice of black, gold, or silver). Before deplaning, she slips into a jacket that has been carefully folded into her carryall. JV has two lovely climate-appropriate  choices:
