Steam Heat
For daytime, I like to begin with one of the new bralettes from Aromatique. Black Stretch lace makes the bras cozy and sexy. Next, I will roll on black tights from Pierre Mantoux’s hosiery collection. Looking cat-like, I can then select a few layers of cashmere from the Chinese design house Arya. Their suite of black separates includes a mix and match collection of cropped pullover with jewel neck and subtle lace design at cuffs, a duster, and long skirt. So mixable with an open-work brown V-neck cardi (also with lace cuffs), a grey/blue cable-knit pullover, and a periwinkle-colored long tube of a dress with cap sleeves. Dressed to thrill, not chill, I can venture out.
For late afternoon and evening, it's home to the radiator. There to luxuriate in the splendor of new silk charmeuse and velvet loungewear from Karma on the Rocks. The look of these garments recalls Art Nouveau, with its stylized gingko designs, woodsy color combinations, and simple shapes. The silk of the Tokyo Kazari Gold Pajama will feel delicious beneath the Nikko Silk Velvet Gold Robe with its gingko embroidery down the long front placket. Also delicious is the Isa Kazari Aqua Pajama paired with the above-knee Nikko Silk Velvet Burgundy Short Robe or the sumptuous Kobe Kazari Aqua Long Silk Robe.
On the really stormy days, I will stay home, in Christine Vancouver’s Fabergé Moss Collection. What luxury to choose between the gown and top in chartreuse green silk that will mingle with the matching silk velvet gown, robe, and pant with devoré (burn-out) patterns. Let the meteorology begin…
Because, to paraphrase lyrics from the Broadway musical The Pajama Game, “I’ve got steam heat…,” but I need JV loungewear to keep away the cold!
