Cashmere Coffee Date
Remember the first time you saw Arya’s tower of cashmere? And how, as you lifted each piece, a little voice in your head whispered, “We need that!” You had to agree. The little black cropped pullover boasted not only your favorite jewel neckline, but also a subtle lacy design along the cuffs. You could wear it every day. Would want to. And then there was the open-work V-neck cardigan, in brown, with its big buttons. Again with patterned cuffs. You definitely need that. It could substitute as a coat. You also loved the black duster and long graceful skirt. The blue/grey cable-knit sweater would be handy. A tie-breaker might be the dress, a long cap-sleeved tube of periwinkle blue. Wearable with the black duster for travel. Perhaps to the Alashan Grassland of Inner Mongolia, where Arya’s cashmere originates.
But, for a date, it’s all about layering in some lingerie too. And what could be nicer to go with the fall tones of Arya cashmere than chestnut-colored silks from Emma Harris? Trimmed in gold lace, these new pieces include a lingerie set and chemise (both decorated with sheer panels at bust) and a kimono style robe with lavish lace trim. The kiss of winter sunshine permeates the chestnut silk. Let it show a little under that cushy brown Arya V-neck cardigan.
And don’t forget your legs. Beneath your Arya long black cashmere skirt or periwinkle dress, you’ll want patterned stockings. Pierre Mantoux produces the finest Italian tights and stay-ups in dark filigrees, to be vamped up with cute little anklets in patterned bursts of color.
So, back to the date. It was a success. Nothing like a smooth entrance. Unless it’s a smooth exit. Your backward glance promised good things to come. Or was the message delivered by your cashmere-clad curves, decorated with just a hint of chestnut, from Jane’s Vanity?
