Clothing speaks to our deep desires. And, as we emerge from the pandemic, our longing for freedom shows in our choice of clothes. We want to feel freedom in fabrics and flaunt freedom in styles. Lingerie and loungewear are places to start. Light and airy, they are our ally for a new beginning. Jane’s Vanity senses freedom in the air.

Of late, some of JV’s most freeing garments are being created in New York City by Taryn Winters. Take the Margot Beaded Lingerie Set. Made of sensuous ultra-soft Italian stretch tulle,  the Margot is as comfortable as an embrace. Add the daring of its balconette cups with hand-embellished French lace, and you’ll want to wear this set every day. Feel free. Available in black or champagne.

This spring, our scouts in the field are taking note of sheer and daring blouses on the streets of Europe. The big reveal is confident, good-natured, and eye-popping. A perfect way to cheer everyone up right now. Including yourself. May we suggest Olivia Von Halle’s Athena Silk Blouse in Luna (black) or Muse (ivory) organza. Sheer, yes, but with a removable silk camisole underneath. So many ways to wear this day-to-cocktail garment. Embroidered with polka dots, its elasticized puff sleeves and retro detailing make it a bit dressy, which allows you to create a look merely by adding your favorite surfer jeans. The light print of Klements’s ethereal Bamboo Jungle Mildred Blouse in silk chiffon provides another way to wake everybody up.

Freedom is a pretty chemise. Sleep in it. Let it be the basis of your summer. We like the versatility of Gilda & Pearl’s Deshabille Tulle Babydoll in champagne with French lace. Wear it beneath a sporty slightly unbuttoned shirt. Or layer it with a deep v-neck sweater for an evening walk on the beach. Its luxury is liberating.

Freedom translates to joy in your “new look” from Jane’s Vanity.
