"French Exit"

When it is time to NOT say “goodbye,” the black Wool Sweater Dress from Aromatique is our camouflage. Wearable either forward or backward, its “hello” cut-out in front can magically morph into a peek at our quickly-receding back. This lovely dress is also cozy for dancing in the dark.
FrancesKa offers another sort of quick disguise with her Brigitte Black Lavallière Blouse of transparent silk chiffon. It allows us to change our look by quickly converting its lovely long tie to a bow or a scarf.
Turkish design house Zambak creates a mantle of invisibility with its Daisy Leather Shrug. The black tulle body of this cute little jacket is embellished with individually-stitched black leather flowers. Perfect to disguise the golden swirls of Gilda & Pearl’s RSVP Embroidered Top. We complete the ensemble with Arya Cashmere’s Black Lace Maxi Skirt (just one remaining at JV in size L).
Zambak's Daisy Shrug also looks great with dark purple: choose Merle Noir’s bias-cut Passion Violet Slip Dress with black floral lace appliqués, or Emma Harris’s capri-length Clara Silk Pajama Set with sparkling black lace at camisole top and (pocketed!) trousers.
It is interesting to note that the French refer to a “French Exit” as an “English Exit.” The English say “to take French Leave.” Manners are complicated. It helps to look gorgeous and keep smiling, no matter what we do. In Jane’s Vanity, of course.
