Eight Little Treats

The Jewish festival of Chanukkah recalls a miracle of light and freedom. Often falling right around Christmas, Chanukkah has its own sort of gift-giving traditions. Its drama begins with the lighting of a single candle (or oil lamp) on the first night. For each of the following seven nights, light grows, as an additional light is lit. A single gift might appear each night. Or, to add anticipation, a gift landslide could be held off until the final night. Whatever the choice, the traditional colors of blue and white (or silver) weave their way through. These mementos are often personal and symbolic, rather than fancy. But a surprise is always nice. Especially from Jane’s Vanity!

This year, for multiple special treats, consider giving beautiful lingerie sets in sparkling blue. Freolic London’s new Ocean Silk and Lace Lingerie Set brings its own iridescence with shimmering seafoam lace on teal silk. The lace is lined with silk tulle, so comfortable as well as stunning. Emma Harris’s Elsa Navy Balconette Set is crafted from saturated navy silk and tulle with metallic Leaver’s lace appliqué. One might follow it up tomorrow with the matching Pajama Set. And after that: the Robe! The navy mesh Sublime a Deux Halter Lingerie Set from Lise Charmel features lavish embroidery in ivory and white. Its halter style could be the preview for a winter holiday on a sunny beach (paired with its matching silk trousers).

Coco de Mer’s Golden Heron Bodysuit is made of navy stretch silk and accented with a glowing flora and fauna yoke at bosom. A gift such as this would be a thoughtful gesture to allow its wearer to show it off on subsequent Chanukkah nights.

Let’s see, that’s six. Wrap things up with a splash of Christine Vancouver. Make it the Darwin Silk Gown. Finish strong with Violet & Wren’s lurex-piped Camo Boom Blouse in oversize magnolia print. Mazel Tov!

And while dreaming of light-filled holidays, imagine yourself strolling through a nearby showing of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.

We wish you all the gift of light and freedom. Happy Holidays from Jane’s Vanity.
