Discovered in Paris

January provided a winter bounce for JV in the form of the Salon International de Lingerie in Paris. Jane and Emily just returned from jetting off to this “intimate” fashion week. Their purchases will inform a year of surprises at Jane’s Vanity. Old friends await them in Paris, ready to share the latest creations. New kids are in town, too, hoping to impress. Sometimes a star is born. It is thrilling to discover one. That happened last year, when JV met Voiment.

Voiment Intimates, created by two young Chinese women, is all about duality. The name Voiment is a derivation of “void” and “movement.” When pronounced, it is similar in sound to the Mandarin Chinese word for “women.” The Chinese double symbol of Yin and Yang is further referenced by designs that juxtapose  “asymmetrical shapes, clashing colors and fabrics, color blocks and eco-friendly materials.” The designers, Yuman He and Ruwen Song, manage to create garments that are both adventurous and charming.

Try the Lace Wireless Full-Cup Bralette Set in silk, lace, and tulle in shades of blue and purple. Or go modern with the color-blocked blue and purple Tulle Wireless Full-Cup Bra. Silver lurex dots and a panty ruffle bring a smile to the black silk Shimmer Dot Bralette Set. And consider the Silk Wired Bodysuit, in champagne silk, for the trimmest take yet on Old Hollywood glamour.

New Year’s is a time to launch fresh ideas. Find them in the lovely underthings selected for you by Jane’s Vanity.
