Barely

The latest JV Lookbook, Saturation in Soft Focus, shows how to bare and layer the bold colors and filmy fabrics of a variety of JV designers. They mesh with such ease that you’ll want to try it yourself.

Follow the lead of the Lookbook by starting the layering with a solid core of color. Case in point, an Emma Harris camisole-top pajama set: the Veronique Cobalt Pajama or the Elsa Teal Silk Pajama. Both are a bit dressy, great for travel or a late-night date. Especially as they, or their matching bras, mix so well with the jazzy silk pajama prints of Karma on the Rocks: the Isa Tama Coral or the Isa Tama Blue. Suddenly you have a variety of “new” ensembles: the print pajama tops make elegant little jackets, which leave their print trousers free to flirt with Merle Noir’s lovely kimono-style Teal Silk Chiffon Jacket, appliquéd down one shoulder with navy and gold lace.

As you’ll notice, the transparency of the Teal Chiffon Jacket adds a little tease, a sort of window on the world…of your body. FrancesKa’s Brigitte Lavalliére Blouse would also make a lovely sheer jacket, in choice of White, Black, or Red chiffon.

Or, be emboldened to begin the layering process with a tiny silk print. The Lookbook does just that with the simple shape and subtle design of Karma’s Kumo Green Edo Dress with its little green and white clouds on navy blue silk charmeuse. Looks lovely with the mantle of cloud blue created by Emma Harris’s Astri Robe.

Perhaps our favorite Lookbook image calls upon the Astri Collection from Emma Harris again. This time it’s the lacy blue Astri Slip Dress, allowed to slink down over the stark column of Christine Vancouver’s chartreuse Fabergé Moss Silk Gown. Sensuous and provocative, this look could easily copy to your own assortment of gowns, slip dresses, chemises and camisoles. The second layer, usually shorter than the first, could sandwich under a fun sweater top to make an all-day look.

Brava to Emly Tate and her team, for a charming and colorful reveal!
