Like Marilyn
Upon seeing new Araks lingerie at Jane’s Vanity, our first thought was of Marilyn Monroe, in Bert Stern’s 1962 photo shoot at Hotel Bel-Air in LA. In it, she wears nothing but a selection of sherbet-colored chiffon scarves. The look is hip, playful, and iconic…as are these just-arrived pieces at JV. Come see…
The styles created by NYC-based lingerie design house Araks speak to that photo shoot, but also to French New Wave films, “Annie Hall,” and even early Prada. All exude a slightly tomboy, don’t care sexiness that comes from easy fabrics, pared down shapes, love of color (including sherbet-colored stripes!). We fell in love with the Beatrice Pomelo Bralette Set and matching Holly Pomelo Slip. Both are crafted from color blocks of peach and yellow silk. The Beatrice also comes in yummy Chocolate.
