This January, JV’s Jane and Emily will attend the International Salon de la Lingerie in Paris. Their visit will coincide with the Parisian celebration of Lunar New Year 2023, the year of the Water Rabbit. Agile and elegant, the Water Rabbit augurs a time of rejuvenation–and love. What a great sidekick. Let’s hop along…
The first stop is London, for meetings with favorite and new lingerie designers. Perhaps there will also be time to see Cezanne at the Tate.
Then on to Paris for the Salon, a must-see lingerie trade show that happens amid the flurry of Fashion Week (and, of course, the pageantry of Lunar New Year).
Jane and Emily also hope to squeeze in a visit to the Fondation Louis Vuitton for the exhibition Monet - Mitchell, a dialog that brings together the artwork of Claude Monet and Joan Mitchell.
Shortly before departure, Emily takes a quick Q & A:
What’s in that suitcase?
The trick to packing light is to choose items that can be worn in multiple ways. So I’ll start with my new favorite, the Viéve High Neck Bralette Set from Hervé by Céline Marie. It is so flattering by itself, and a showstopper under the versatile Meghan Luxe Silk Crepe Gown in black. A Klements blouse would give this look a handy change-up. The blouse can also be worn with one of Vannina Vespirini’s long silk skirts. II’ll take two of them: the dark red from seasons past, and the new Khaki Silk Skirt. Boots, of course, and something formal in footwear, because “you never know.”
What’s on your mind, as you look forward to this buying trip?
Amidst the pedestrian, the ho-hum and the boring, we are dedicated to finding the most beautiful and exceptional.
Any places you can't wait to visit in Paris?
Oui, oui! We'll head for Willi’s Wine Bar, our favorite place for wine, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere.
With a twitch of their noses and a slick to their fur, our fashion bunnies are on their way, with a promise to return just in time for Valentine’s Day!
