Darling Thank Yous

In school, we learned to pen a charming thank you called a “The “Bread and Butter Note:”  These days we type, but continue to compose with style. As do the JV designers to whom we send our sincere appreciation.

Dear Derek Rose, Your linen pajamas are my warm-weather romance. On the porch, in the hammock, at the beach, I love the Paisley Linen “shorties.” And the Sicily Navy Linen Pajama has freed me to stroll in the shade, sip an iced coffee, or dance in the sand. Thank you, kind sirs. Sincerely, 

Dear Merle Noir, You are a true artist, whose lingerie is exquisitely COLORFUL, as well as exquisitely crafted. I am awed by the Teal Silk Chiffon Jacket, whose shoulder you have sprinkled with navy and gold lace appliqué. I am stunned by the transparent Navy Lace Robe that you’ve trimmed and tied with sunny ochre-colored silk. The Carmine Red Slip Dress welcomes autumn with the magic play of burgundy silk and lace. But my absolute favorite is the Rustic Pink Chemise whose dusty pink body is trimmed with intricate grey lace appliqué! You’re a genius. Brava! 

Dear FrancesKa, All winter I plan to experiment with ways to wear your Simone Tulle Skirt in tiers of black net embroidered with tiny polka dots. It will be pretty with a fuzzy sweater and a tartan hip-wrap. Also nice as a crinoline that shows beneath a gown or midi skirt. And for a resort vacation, I will dare to wear it alone, accompanied by just a camisole or bodysuit from JV. Life is good. Gracias, Cariña!

My next unit at school might have been “The Five Paragraph Essay.” Or was it “The Pythagorean Theorem?" I do remember my school clothes, which were a big deal, even then. Forerunners to good things from Jane’s Vanity. For which I am incredibly grateful. I should write to JV.
