As You Wish

On your days off, you may dress as you please. But, instead of falling back, leap forward. Let your personality show through in bravura JV looks that will inspire your wardrobe all week long.

Is there a special piece that you’ve been saving? Get it into circulation this weekend. Nothing feels better while folding the laundry than silk velvet from Karma on the Rocks. So wear their Tokyo Red Velvet Pajama with sparkling blue embroidered trim. Or their glorious Red Velvet Nikko Robe with cascades of embroidery and silk charmeuse lining. Or…the Red Hanten Jacket, which you suddenly realize in a moment of brilliance, you could wear to work!

Steal a little time to scan the internet for a cheap flight to the sun. Get into the mood by wearing beachy layers from Emma Harris. Pull your surfer jeans over the Clara Silk Pajama Set, with its camisole top, capri-length trouser, and sparkling black lace trim. It’s February, so top it with Aromatique’s Black Silk Ribbed Long Sleeve (or even the Black Wool Turtleneck). To leave the house for a quick milk run, add Zamback’s Daisy Jacket with black leather flowers stitched onto black tulle. You’re getting the idea. By switching the jeans for Arya’s Lace Maxi Skirt in black cashmere, you would be dressed for the 9 to 5 world.

If you work from home, it is even more important to “dress for success,” as you alone define it. Your weekend has revealed a row of party outfits that need a bit of airing. Wear them to sweep stylishly into your home office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. Begin with a Petunia Wide Leg Pant from D2Line (choice of Paintbrush or Floral). Add the Draped Back Blouse with cunning scarf collar. Midweek, strut out Christine Vancouver’s Fabergé Moss Silk Top and Moss Velvet Pant. Friday, it has to be Gilda & Pearl’s Champagne in Venice Dress. Ooh La La. Your output (and your input) have never been stronger.
