These Black Stockings

You’ll see them on daytime European streets this spring: enticing black filigree stockings. For now, they’ll be worn with a mini skirt and high boots. Later, they’ll look right with ballet flats. The delicate design of these stockings feels fresh–and even subversive in its femininity. Give the look a walk yourself in sturdier-than-you-think patterned black hosiery from Jane’s Vanity. Open the door to black stocking possibility.

Shine some daylight on Falke’s sheer black Magic Evening Tights that feature shimmering Art Deco-inspired lurex patterning in either silver or gold. Sheer heel, reinforced toe, and flat waistband assure comfort and longevity. Or try the Falke Moon Gala tights with their baroque decorative 3-D pattern down the lower leg. You’ll be warm in spring breezes and standing tall in the monochrome look of “legs up to here.”

Even sexier are Barazandeh’s Jasmin Asymmetric Swarovski Stay-Ups. A hand-sewn backseam and Cuban heel offset hand-appliquéd Swarovski crystals that climb up one of the legs and leave the other bare.

Please note: JV has many more decorative black stockings in person than are visible online. Emily Tate can send photos, so get in touch

Or, consider an alternative way to wear black stockings: begin with a skirt or dress in stretchy black knit from Dana Pisarra. The lacy Luxor Wool Silk Dress hits around the knee with a slightly higher front hem. The simpler Liberty Black Wool Skirt has a similar hem that is embellished with Art Nouveau embroidery in front. Either offers Audrey Hepburn chic that likes little flats and the completely plain black Diamond 10 Stay-Ups from Falke. As an experiment with kitten heels, you might layer on Falke’s little Gleaming Hive Sock in black.

This trend has legs. It feels simple and new. Make your spring progress more interesting in “those” black stockings from Jane’s Vanity.
